Ecosol Turfcare had a busy BTME at Harrogate in January and we were very happy to welcome satisfied customers as well as new clients on to our stand. As a result, the order book for Spring Drill n Fill is filling fast.
As well as work all over the UK, we are sending two machines over to the Continent where they will be employed for at least a month at clubs in France and Germany.
Storm Barbara no match for Drill n Fill
It’s proving a strong spring for Ecosol Turfcare’s Drill n Fill Aerator as golf clubs invest in drainage solutions during 2017.
Those that went ahead last autumn are already reaping benefits. Neil Robinson of Penrith GC had 12 greens Drill n Filled last October using 80:20 kiln-dried SP30 medium coarse sand to Ecosol Sportslite, injected to a depth of 310mm. “Soon after they finished the job, we heard that Storm Barbara was coming through and fully expected to close the course for the whole weekend,” said Neil. “The storm came and the next day the course was open, no closures necessary. We were delighted to see the effects of the process so soon.”
The revolutionary aerator, which gently folds its drills through the turf, leaving long lasting ducts up to 310mm deep through which surface water can percolate down, also penetrates thatch and black layer, aiding compaction and improving the playability of the green. The 80:20 backfill, holds the duct open and improves root zone, grass growth and uptake of fertiliser.
Basildon Golf Club used Drill n Fill for the first time on three of its greens last November. They also used an 80:20 sand/ Sportslite mix for the backfill and the club’s Colin Jenkins said,
“It’s a wonderful process and we hope to make it a rolling programme for our course.”
