Ecosol Turfcare can offer sand banding to provide a secondary drainage system to fine and outfield turf which already has a system of pipes and/or gravel in place (a "Primary System").
Flooding and surface water can still blight turf containing a primary drainage system, especially where there is compaction, or in heavy clay soils, where the percolation has slowed. We operate the latest generation BLEC Vibra Sandmaster to speed water off the surface and into the pipes and gravel. It will create sand slits 20mm wide and as deep as 200mm at 260mm centres to help you make the most of your drainage system.
The Sandmaster is used to improve drainage on a variety of turf types, ranging from golf greens to football and rugby pitches. Ecosol Turfcare has had excellent results sand slitting for leading football clubs such as Swindon Town and Yeovil Town and on rugby pitches including Bath Rugby and Harlequins.
We can supply all backfill requirements as the Sandmaster works with wet or dry materials. Mounted behind a tractor, it will decompact and surface drain all in one pass. The rear flotation tyres gently firm up the ground, leaving a level, ready to play surface.
